25 Jan Zephyr Solar helps disaster victims
Firstly the aim of this photovoltaic balloon is to make the humanitarian intervention easier by allowing the access to energy in a crisis situation.
Inflated with helium in a few minutes, the balloon of 3 m diameter covered with ultra-light solar panels is sent into the air.
It is connected by cables to a steering console, and produces up to 10 kW; this allows to operate water pumps, an improvised operating theater and its fridge storing medicines and the surgical tools.
The startup also target other market segments such as aerial observation and fast deployment of telecommunications network
