The state of South Australia has announced that it will create a network of thousands of solar-powered homes. Tesla was awarded a deal to install solar panels and batteries in nearly 50,000 homes over the next five years. Initial phases of the plan are already underway.
The government says the virtual power plant can provide 20 percent of the state’s average daily energy requirements.
This will be the world’s largest virtual power plant.
