27 Sep IN2 – A new way to listen to stories
IN2 (Pronounced “into”) is a project led by Marie Renault, Théo Grevet, Norman Cooper and Coraline Renault.
Marie created a finalized prototype for her graduation project at the e-artsup school. The main audience of IN2 suffers from a problem of sight. This allows them to live an immersive experience with binaural sounds and smells.
The binaural sound technique consists in reproducing what a person would hear by simulating the effect of perception by the cranium. This allows us to know that a noise comes from front or back. For smells they created a system trapping perfumes in separate boxes, all done with a 3D printer.
The final result was presented at the 2018 edition of Vivatech
